I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old after listening to my parents' Beatles records and falling in love with the music. I started with lessons on acoustic guitar, and soon after got my first electric guitar. It didn't take me long to start developing my rock guitar chops, being heavily influenced by the many rock guitar masters that emerged in the 80s. I later began studying jazz, funk, and country music, which greatly expanded my playing style and versatility.
I studied classical guitar as a teenager at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, then went on to study jazz at Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. I then transferred to UCLA, where I studied music theory and classical performance.
Since graduating, I have played with dozens of original and cover bands in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. I now divide my time between teaching guitar lessons, gigging, and recording sessions.
